The PROPAINT project will investigate conditions for paintings inside microclimate frames during exhibition, storage and transit, by using dosimeter technology developed in previous EU research projects, passive gas sampling and by exposing varnish samples in museums and in accelerated tests in the laboratory. The PROPAINT research will contribute to better design of microclimate frames for paintings and better preservation of the paintings.
